The School’s newly formed alumni chapter held its first event on Wednesday 21 September at the Deakin Melbourne Corporate Centre. The event was aimed at first year graduates (2015) and was well attended with around 40 people that featured a panel discussion on the ‘Past, Present and Future of Industry’ and was followed by an opportunity for alumni to reconnect and network over drinks and canapes. Some very productive conversations were held and there was a great balance of recent and established alumni in attendance.
Panellists: Ms Linda Tivendale (S805), Mr Glen Parry (S346) and Mr Albert Fraval (S342 and S700) and Master of Ceremonies was Professor Des Smith.
Deakin graduates can join an alumni chapter or network. Graduates of Deakin antecedent institutions are also welcome.
Each chapter fosters lifelong relationships with its members, forming a relevant and engaged community of like-minded mentors, industry professionals and researchers.
