We aim at designing intelligent algorithms which automate problems of data analysis, planning and decision making. The lab actively pursues interdisciplinary research within the areas of pattern analysis, machine learning and AI aimed at discovering the principles underlying the design, development and deployment of artificially intelligent systems.
We have collaborative links with the resource management, infrastructure, primary industries, defense, health and logistic sectors and have the capacity to do both, theoretical research and develop solutions to very real problems. To do this, we not only apply neural networks currently widely used by the research community, but also use other structural pattern recognition techniques based upon graphs and statistics. We also develop learning and inference methods on large dynamic data sets that can be used to model and predict complex processes in multidisciplinary projects.
