Build literacies course-wide
Exemplars and initiatives in this section are all based in the Faculty of Business and Law Bachelor of Commerce (BComm). This course has the most students, and the most low socioeconomic status students, in the University. The BComm has a coordinated approach to embedding activities across level 1 core units to build students’ academic and digital literacies, business numeracy skills and career-readiness. While all level 1 core units teach all of these literacies as part of the curriculum, each core unit has a key focus on one type of literacy. These are also revisited in other levels of the course. The exemplars and initiatives here demonstrate the effectiveness of taking this course-wide approach, as well as a variety of learning and teaching methods that can be successful.
